Clash Verge frequently asked questions
Ordered by how often they come up. Every answer ends with something you can actually do.
Are Clash Verge and Clash the same thing?
Not the same software, but the same lineage. The original Clash core was archived at the end of 2023 and is no longer maintained. Clash Verge runs on Mihomo (formerly Clash.Meta), the community continuation, which keeps the same config syntax and subscription format while adding more capability.
Should I download the x64 or the ARM64 build?
Almost every Windows PC — anything with an Intel or AMD processor — takes x64, which is the first item on our download page. Only ARM-based Windows devices such as Snapdragon X machines need ARM64. Check Settings → System → About and read the "System type" line.
It is asking for a subscription URL. Where do I get one?
Clash Verge is only the client; it ships with no nodes. You supply the subscription yourself, either from a config you generate on your own server or from a provider. We link one on the download page that takes Alipay and gives you trial data on signup, so you can test before paying.
Do I have to enable TUN mode?
No. For ordinary browsing the system proxy is enough. Turn TUN on when you need apps that ignore the system proxy — some games, command-line tools, Docker — to be routed as well. Enabling it needs one administrator prompt to install the virtual adapter driver.
Can I use this on my phone?
On Android, yes: we host FlClash, Clash Meta for Android, v2rayNG and NekoBox. For iOS, App Store policy means there is no installer for us to mirror.
My antivirus flagged the download. What now?
Proxy clients create virtual adapters and change system proxy settings, which routinely trips heuristic detection. Confirm you downloaded from this site or the upstream project page, then add the install folder to your antivirus exclusions. If you cannot account for where the file came from, delete it and download again.

Why does this site offer Clash Verge rather than "Clash"?
This is our most-asked question, so here is the short version: it is not that we will not host it — there is no maintained version of the original Clash left to host.
The original core stopped being maintained at the end of 2023
The original Clash repository (Dreamacro/clash) was archived by its author in November 2023, and Clash Premium and Clash for Windows stopped updating around the same time. Almost everything advertised today as "official Clash" is an old build repackaged by a third party: no security fixes, and no compatibility with newer subscription formats.
Mihomo (Clash.Meta) took over the core
The community carried the core forward as Mihomo, known earlier as Clash.Meta. It is fully compatible with the original Clash config syntax while adding TUN, protocol sniffing, more protocols and rule-set support. When people say "the Clash core" today, this is what they mean.
Clash Verge is the desktop client still being updated on that line
Clash Verge (Clash Verge Rev) runs on Mihomo and ships native installers for Windows, macOS and Linux. Subscriptions, rules and routing all behave exactly the way you know them from Clash. Put plainly: if you are looking for "Clash for desktop", the answer today is Clash Verge.
Your subscription URL does not change
As long as your provider gives you a standard Clash or Clash.Meta subscription, paste it straight into Clash Verge. Nodes, groups and rules all carry over intact.
